We had an extremely successful event that will have a great impact on the environment. We picked up a record amount of E-Waste according to Scott Recycling. Clean Harbors helped us remove over 6,000 lbs of oil and latex paint from the waste stream, and we collected oil, antifreeze, and batteries that placed us within 1,000 lbs of matching a full Household Hazardous Waste Event.

This event was a great example of what a community working together can accomplish. Between KMB board volunteers coming out to work the event with smiles on their faces, the media getting the word out, and state, local, and county governments working with private waste handlers, this event was set up for success. Another success of this event is the cost. This event cost the State $12,548.36 last year, but we did it for less than $1,000.

We also gave out information on protecting water resources.
