Sanitation
The
collection of Athens waste is a big job. Last year Public
Works collected 3,857.47 tons of residential solid waste and
6,565.12 tons of commercial solid waste. The pride car service
transported 193.32 tons of waste and there was 29.79 tons
of litter collected. During clean up week 250.02 tons or waste
was picked up for a total of 10,895.72 tons. To do this efficiently,
the Sanitation Department is organized into four sections.
