ANNUAL CLEAN-UP WEEK

Clean-Up Week will be April 21st - 25th, 2008. Clean-Up Week
is co-sponsored by the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, Keep
McMinn Beautiful, the City of Athens and by McMinn County.
The Clean-Up Week event helps promote beautification
in our area. We will provide our residential neighbors the
opportunity to clean up and discard unwanted items and yard
debris. Place your unwanted items curbside and the Public
Works Department will pick them up! This opportunity is provided
in addition to normal garbage pickup. There is no specific
schedule for a given street, but all streets will be covered
at least once during the week. The following are some guidelines
to follow:

Brush

Bagged Leaves
|
|
Tires (No Rims / Wheels)
|
Unwanted Yard Sale Items
|
|
Furniture
|
Unwanted Clothing
|
|
Appliances (With Compressors and
Coolant Lines Removed)
|
|
Building Materials (Shingles Must
Be Removed From Any Building Material)
|
* Please note that "Junk,"
Brush and Tires must be placed in separate piles.
* Please seperate metal and non-metal
items.
* A pile of building materials larger
than one (1) load will not be accepted.
*Roofing Shingles, Gas Tanks and Propane
BBQ Grill Tanks will not be accepted.
Please
have all of your unwanted items at the curbside (placed
3 to 5 feet from the curb, not in the road) on or before:
April
21st, 2008 by 7:00 a.m.
*Items you do not want picked
up should be kept away from the curbside during Clean-Up
Week
