COMMUNICATIONS SECTION
911 DISPATCH FOR CITY OF ATHENS
The Communication Center is currently staffed by eight full
time Dispatchers. The Center provides the Citizens of City
of Athens with uninterrupted prompt answering to emergency
and non-emergency calls for service for Athens Police Department
and Athens Fire Department.
In
order to meet the Computer Aided Dispatch requirements of
the Pamet Software, three DELL Pentium II 400Mhz computers
have been installed. Each computer is supported with 17"
DELL monitors.
The purchase of the ACU1000 frequency converter
system permits EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement and Utilities
to interact on the radio without making any adjustmests
to mobile or portable radio/frequencies.
In case of an Emergency dial 911
The dispatcher will ask you some questions about
your emergency, please stay on the telephone. This will ensure
that the proper emergency service is dispatched to your location.
