2008 Pool Season



Ingleside Pool
Ingleside Pool is located at 615 Forrest Avenue. At Ingleside
Pool patrons can enjoy men/women's restrooms, with showers
available, a baby pool, and concessions. Ingleside Pool
also offers a double-tube pool slide, and easy access to
eight tennis courts. The phone number is 744-2794.
2008 Pool Operating Dates and Hours
Pools will open May 24. Ingleside pool is open Monday-Saturday
from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm - 6:00
pm with pools available for after hour party rentals.
Swimmers Rules
*All patrons under 9 years of age must be accompanied by
an adult.
*Patrons' ages 10-15 years of age must have a signed waiver
by a guardian to be left without guardian at pool.
*Children who are not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper.
*Patrons requiring a floatation device must remain in the
shallow end.
*All patrons must complete a beginner swim test to access
the deep end.
Daily Fees
The cost is $2.00 for those under 18 and $3.00 for 18 &
up. Sr. Citizen's (55 and Up) only $2.00.Everyone must pay
to enter.
Pool Passes
Pool passes may be purchased at the Recreation Department.
The passes are good for the entire pool season any of the
city pools. Fees are below:
Seasonal Youth Pass - $50.00 ($140.00 value)
Seasonal Adult Pass - $80.00 ($210.00 value)
Seasonal Family Pass - $180.00 ($560.00 value)
(Family pass includes the first 3 immediate family members;
$25.00 for each additional member)
Pool Parties
Pools can be reserved for two or three hour pool parties
after regular operating hours, beginning at 7pm any day
of the week. The fee is $35.00 per hour up to 50 people,
which includes two lifeguards. If there are more than 50
people it is $15 for an additional lifeguard for every extra
25 people. Reservations must be made through the Recreation
office.
Learn to Swim
The Learn to Swim Program will be held Monday – Friday,
June 16–June 27 at Ingleside Pool and City Park Pool.
The classes teach swimming techniques as well as a review
for advanced swimmers that have completed kindergarten.
This program is under the supervision of Harold "Prof"
Powers. There is no fee for the program but they do request
a one time $2 donation. The age groups and times are as
follows:

9:00-10:00 Swimmer (most advanced)
10:00-10:45 Girls Beginner (entering 1st or 2nd Grade Only)
10:45-11:30 Boys Beginner (entering 1st or 2nd Grade Only)
11:30-12:15 Boys or Girls Beginner (ages 8 and up)
12:15-1:00 Intermediates
1:00-1:45 Advanced Beginners
The operating hours for Ingleside Pool during
the Learn to Swim program will be 2 pm - 6 pm Monday - Friday
beginning June 16 - June 27. Saturday and Sunday pool operating
hours will remain the same.

Practice will be held at Ingleside Pool
from 6:00 to 7:00 pm
Important Information
1. All meets will be held at the Athens-McMinn
YMCA.
2. Team members need to be on the deck for warm-ups at 7:00.
3. If for any reason you are not able to attend the mee,
let me know as soon as possible!
4. Each swimmer will swim two individual events and two
realys at each regular meet and three individual events
and three relays at the County Meet.
5. One pice bathing suits must be worn at meets and preferably
at practices as well.
6. You must have signed a release form for your child to
swim at the YMCA.
7. We will need parent volunteers at each meet to be timers,
write ribbons, etc.
8. The age group you will swim with bell be determined by
your age as of June 13th.
