What is an abandoned / inoperative vehicle?
A vehicle that is not roadworthy. Roadworthy means the vehicle is legal to travel on any road and is not in violation by the Tennessee Motor Vehicle standards. Also, any vehicle that has not been or cannot be moved for a period in excess of 72 hours.
 
Can I operate a business from my home?
Yes. Provided you have approval from the Athens Regional Planning Commission and meet all of the requirement as stated by the Municipal Zoning Ordinance
 
Can I put yard sale signs on the utility poles or along the roads?
No. Signs of any nature are not allowed on utility poles or along any right-of-way.
 
If I have been notified of a violation, can I request more time to comply?
In most cases, yes. However, there are a few exceptions.
