Ship's Roster
Click the alphabetical links listed below to access the list of over 5,250 shipmates who served aboard the U.S.S. Charles R. Ware DD-865 during the years 1945 through 1974, the duration of her active service in the U.S. Navy. This complete roster was first posted in November 2006.
Many shipmates are shown as MEMBERS of the Ware Association and regularly receive the Ship’s quarterly newsletter, NOW HEAR THIS, or they have been LOCATED but for reasons unknown are not currently in touch with the Association. Their contact information is available to all Ware Association members who are the generous sponsors of the ship’s Roster Projects and for whom this listing has been compiled and researched. These projects have been ongoing since their inception in Dec. 2004.
Anyone may join the Ware Association be they shipmates, relatives of or friends of the U.S.S. Charles R.Ware DD-865.
If you can provide information helpful in locating missing shipmates (alive or deceased), please contact Jerry Tardif (see below.) Information such as Home State and approximate age (Min/Max) can be very helpful in finding shipmates. Your help will be gratefully received on behalf of all Waremen.
Periodic updates are made to the Roster as the Projects continue to be developed and until the entire Ware personnel history has been audited and the last shipmate that can be found has been found. The currently posted Roster (version 19) reflects all known activity through September 1, 2011.
