PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Athens announces the following public hearing will be held during their regular meeting on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, in the Athens Municipal Building located at 815 North Jackson Street beginning at 6:00 p.m.:

ORDINANCE NO. 1003 – “AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 12 OF THE ATHENS MUNICIPAL CODEENTITLED ‘BUILDING, UTILITY, ETC. CODES’ TO ADOPT THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 2008 EDITIONAND THE 2009 EDITION ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION.”

A copy of this ordinance is available for inspection at the Athens Municipal Building during normal business hours (Monday through Friday) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or can be viewed online at the following website:  http://cityofathenstn.com/citycouncil.html.

All interested persons should be present for this meeting or submit comments in writing to the Office of the City Manager on or before the public hearing date.

REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ATHENS, TENNESSEE DURING THE YEAR 2012

Notice is Hereby given to all residents of Athens, Tennessee, and to all persons interested, that open, public regular meetings of the City Council of the City of Athens,Tennessee, will be held at the regular meeting place of said Council at the Municipal Building in Athens, Tennessee, commencing at the hour of 6:00 PM on the third Tuesday of each month during the year 2012.

There will be considered at such meetings all matters which may properly be considered at regular meetings of the City Council.

The Athens City Council Work Session will be held on the Monday of week prior to the City Council meeting at 5:45 PM at the Athens Municipal Building Training Room. There will be considered at such meetings all matters which may properly be considered at regular meetings of the Athens City Council, however, no action will be taken.

This notice is given pursuant to the provisions of Section 8-44-106, inclusive, Tennessee Code Annotated.
